Tata Motors-owned Land Rover unveiled the new 2023 Range Rover Velar facelift globally. The new Velar gets minor changes to the exterior and interior. The SUV also gets additional features with updated powertrain options.
2023 Range Rover Velar: ExteriorTalking about the design, the 2023 Range Rover Velar gets sleek LED headlamps with a revised front grille with a black theme.
At the back, the changes are subtle it gets a re-designed bumper with the new scuff plate. The side and the silhouette of the SUV remain the same and the new Velar will be available in Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey colour options.
2023 Range Rover Velar: InteriorThe interior is where the major changes can be seen. The new Velar gets an 11.4-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with JLR’s Pivi Pro UI. The updated Velar also gets visible climate and audio controls, a new ‘pre-drive’ panel for commonly used features, and Amazon Alexa voice control functionality. The steering wheel, air vents, and centre console surround now get Moonlight Chrome accents.
The Velar no longer gets a separate touchscreen for climate control. It gets a new centre console with a hidden storage cubby and wireless phone charger beneath. Land Rover claims that around 80 per cent of all tasks can be carried out with just two taps on the infotainment screen.
The interior now gets leather-free upholstery and comes with combining wool with polyurethane textile inserts. Velar also gets three themes for the interior - Cloud, Raven Blue and Deep Garnet.
2023 Range Rover Velar: PowertrainMoving on to the powertrain options, the P400e plug-in hybrid now gets a bigger battery pack - 19.2 kWh with EV only a range of 64 Km. The electric motor is paired with the same 2.0-litre petrol engine which produces combined power of 404 bhp of power and 640 Nm of torque. Land Rover claims the Velar can sprint from 0-100 in just 5.4 seconds. The top speed is limited to 210 kmph.
Other engine options include 2.0-litre petrol with 250 bhp, 2.0-litre diesel with 204 bhp, 3.0-litre, straight six petrol with 400 bhp and another 3.0-litre diesel straight six with 300 bhp of power.
